New Delhi: Indian captain Virat Kohli has expressed his gratitude for the 'friendship and trust' he got from his senior Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Reacting to Mahi's retirement, Virat said that this legendary cricketer will always be his captain.
The BCCI has posted a video message of about a minute on its Twitter handle in which Kohli expressed his views towards Dhoni. Virat said that Dhoni's retirement is one of those moments in life when he does not have enough words to express his thoughts.
Despite Kohli taking over as captain in place of Dhoni, the two have a cordial relationship and both respect each other a lot. Kohli said, “Many times in life words get less and I think it is a moment. All I can say is that you will always be the person who sits on the last seat on the bus.”
The Indian captain said, “We have a very good friendship and mutual understanding because we always played the same role, the same goal that the team had to win.” He said, “It was a pleasure playing with you. You have shown faith in me, for which I will always be grateful to you.”
Kohli said, “I have said this before, I will say it again, you will always be my captain.” As you know that, Dhoni announced his retirement on Instagram on Saturday. However, he will continue to play for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League.
