The UAE well-known for its infrastructure along with being a world-class venue is still on a boost. It is said that the T-20 World Cup 2021 would be hosted by the UAE if in case it is not staged in India.

Just after BCCI (i.e. the Board of Control for Cricket in India) opted for UAE to host the world’s richest franchise-based cricket league (i.e. the Indian Premier League), it has widened the doors more cricket coming our way in the days to follow.

The condition around the world today due to the deadly virus is on an all-time low. India is the original host for this T20 World Cup. But now the UAE has been placed on a standstill just in case, the condition does not improve and India is unable to host the show.

The standby options have been a part of the standard practice and even our neighbouring island nation ‘Sri Lanka’ is amongst a backup option besides the UAE.

The disaster spread by the pandemic has affected all countries alike. But talking about the conditions in Asia alone, India is one of the worst affected countries. The numbers are soaring every day which has led to the country rise on top in Asia and on number 3 on the world list right behind USA and Brazil.

On the other hand, the world has seen the UAE bravely battle the pandemic. It has taken into account all the safety and precautionary measures for the same and has happily said goodbye to the virus. Thus, they are also hosting the most talked about Indian Premier League 2020 by creating a safe environment using strict health protocols.

The three venues for the Indian Premier League include the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi, the Sharjah Cricket Stadium along with the Dubai International Cricket Stadium from September to November 2020. As well known, the Uae is also home to the ICC (International Cricket Council) headquarters.

Two weeks back, the ICC had announced that India would retain their right for hosting the October- November 2021 event. The current year’s event which was scheduled from October 28 to November 15 has been postponed to 2022. Along with this, India is also scheduled to host 2023 fifty over World Cup.

The UAE is known to be a great host and has hosted commendable matches since 1996. In case, the pandemic shows no signs of improvement, then the UAE would be the first choice to host the 2021 game including the 2021 IPL as well.
