New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings Owner N. Srinivasan has revealed a lot regarding star all-rounder Suresh Raina's withdrawal from IPL-2020. The former BCCI president feels that Success has climbed this cricketer’s head. Srinivasan said that Raina was not happy with the hotel room, he wanted a room like Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He was also ingage in controversy with Dhoni over the hotel room.
As you know that, Chennai Super Kings are already in trouble with 13 members including two players were Corona Positive. In such this situation, the decision of Suresh Raina to leave the upcoming IPL season and return home has increased the trouble for the former champions. The current season of the Indian Premier League is scheduled to be played in the UAE from 19 September due to the corona virus. All the 8 teams have reached the UAE and are ready for a quarantine of 6 days under bio-protocols.
Srinivasan has created a sensation by confirming reports that Suresh had left the IPL 2020 and returned home due to fear of a bad hotel room and corona virus. Raina was involved in a dispute with his team CSK captain Dhoni over the hotel room. Captain Cool tried his best to convince the all-rounder, but he did not agree and decided to leave the tournament.
CSK owner Srinivasan believes that the success had hit Raina and he was proud. He said, “I am shocked by Raina suddenly leaving the team, but captain Dhoni has taken over the situation. Cricketers are like the moody actors of the old days. Chennai Super Kings is like a family and all the senior players have learned to live together.”
Srinivasan further added, “The team has recovered from the Raina episode. I think if you are not happy then you will come back. I cannot pressure anyone to do something. Sometimes success comes over your head….” He said that there has been talk between him and Dhoni. The captain has assured him that even if the corona cases increase, there is nothing to worry about. Dhoni has spoken with the team on a zoom call and asked everyone to be safe.
The former ICC President is confident that Suresh Raina will return. He said, “I think he would like to come back. The season has not started and he will realize what he has left behind (Rs 11 crore). He will not get this (salary).” As you know that, earlier there were speculations that Raina has left the IPL because his relatives in Pathankot had been attacked by dacoits, in which one of his relatives died.
CSK reached Dubai on 21 August. Since then Raina was not happy with the hotel room and wanted a rigid protocol for Corona. He wanted a room like Dhoni's, because his room's balcony was not appropriate. Meanwhile, Raina's fear increased when a total of 13 members, including two players from the CSK team (pacer Deepak Chahar and wicketkeeper batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad), became Corona positive.
