Manchester: Pakistan defeated England by 5 runs in the third and final T20 International match. The three-match T20 series ended 1–1 with Pakistan's victory. Pakistan's experienced batsman Mohammad Hafeez received the Man of the Match and Man of the Series award for outstanding batting.

Hafeez (86 not out) and young batsman Hyder Ali (54) played superb half-century innings. With the help of both half-centuries, the Pakistani team managed to score 190 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs. In response, the English team could only manage 185 runs after losing 8 wickets.

England got off to a poor start during chase a target of 191 in this match played on Tuesday, When Johnny Bairstow was clean bowled by Shaheen Afridi on zero in the first over of the innings. The pair of David Malan (7) and captain Eoin Morgan (10), who won England in the last match, also flopped in this match.

Tom Bantom (46), who was batting brilliantly, became the victim of Haris Rauf in the 8th over. At that time there were only 69 runs on the score board and all four batsmen of the top order of the host team were in the pavilion. Then all-rounder Moeen Ali (61), along with Sam Billings and Gregory (12), kept England's hopes alive.

England needed 20 runs in the last 2 overs of the match. But the experienced pacer Wahab Riaz turned the match towards Pakistan through his brilliantly bowled in the 19th over. In this over, he took the wickets of Chris Jordan and Moin Ali. On the total score of 174, Moeen was caught & bowled by Wahab. As soon as he was out, England's hopes also ended. Riyaz  gave only 3 runs in this over with 1 wide. England eventually lost the match by 5 runs. Shaheen Afridi and Wahab Riaz picked up 2-2 wickets each.

Earlier, England captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first. With help of Haider Ali (54) and Mohammad Hafeez (86) batting, Pakistan made a challenging score. Haider played a brilliant innings of 54 runs in 33 balls in the first T20 International match of his career. From the other end, veteran batsman Hafeez also maintained the rhythm of his previous match. He scored 86 runs in 52 balls with the help of 4 fours and 6 sixes.
