  • Indian Premier League has got another setback
  • The Future Group has decided to withdraw from the league's associate sponsorship this year
  • BCCI can impose penalty on Future Group for this act

New Delhi: The troubles are not coming to an end for the Indian Premier League (IPL). Sometimes the cause of Corona pandemic being postponed indefinitely, sometimes Vivo's pull back from title sponsorship and now the Associate Sponsor future group has given a fresh blow to this popular T20 cricket league. The future group has withdrawn from the Associate Sponsorship of IPL 2020.

The Future Group was associated with the IPL for the past five years, but this year Indian conglomerate company has decided to end its association with the t20 league. The official website of the IPL has also removed the name of Future Group from the list of associate sponsors. BCCI is looking for the replacement of Future Group. There are reports that the Future Group wanted to break away from the IPL and perhaps the board should also impose a penalty on it after leaving the road midway.

According to sources associated with the BCCI, “The major reason for the withdrawal of Future Group is the high price paid for the sponsorship. However, the board will agree only when the Future Group agrees to pay the penalty.”

Earlier, the Daikin air-conditioning also decided to split with Delhi Capitals. The Japanese company was the main sponsor of the Delhi team since 2015. However, the Delhi team soon made the JSW Group the new principal sponsor.

As you know that, Vivo India decided to withdraw from the title sponsor of the IPL in view of the anti-China sentiments in the country. The BCCI then announced the auction for this year. Dream 11 was awarded this year's title sponsorship for Rs 222 crore, much less than Vivo's Rs 440 crore. The board, however, began the exercise of joining two other associate sponsors to compensate for the loss. But now with the withdrawal of Future Group, BCCI has faced another problem.
